Rowan's Lowry, TCNJ's Herlihy, Stockton's Soltys Earn NJAC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's lacrosse weekly award winners for the week ending March 29.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALEXIS LOWRY • Rowan University
Junior • Attack • Alloway, N.J. / Woodstown
 
Lowry is named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying three goals and an assist in 18th-ranked Rowan's 12-10 victory over 13th-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Wednesday. She scored to tie the game at 5-5 in the second quarter, then netted two more in the third quarter to pull the Profs level on each occasion after falling behind. Lowry also assisted on the game-winning goal with five minutes remaining, extending Rowan's winning streak to four games.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Herlihy claims NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording 10 caused turnovers and 13 ground balls across two matches. She posted four ground balls and three caused turnovers at Muhlenberg before setting career highs with nine ground balls and seven caused turnovers in an 11-3 victory at Lebanon Valley, also contributing two goals in the win. Herlihy is tied for fifth in the NJAC with a team-leading 29 ground balls on the season.

Soltys earned NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after posting five goals, eight ground balls, and seven caused turnovers in a 2-0 week. She opened with six ground balls and five caused turnovers in an 8-6 victory over Marymount, then tied her career high with five goals to go along with seven draw controls in a 17-8 win over DeSales. Soltys ranks second in the NJAC in caused turnovers (3.09 per game) and third in ground balls (3.64 per game) on the season.
