PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's lacrosse weekly award winners for the week ending March 15.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CJ KOLE • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Attack • Asbury, NJ / North Hunterdon
Kole has been named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after surpassing the 100-goal mark for her career in TCNJ's 17-5 victory over New Paltz. The junior attack tallied five goals and two assists, recording a hat trick in the first half and joining the Century Club on a marker with 3:32 remaining in the second quarter. Kole also converted both of her free-position attempts, scooped three ground balls, and added nine draw controls and a caused turnover. Kole currently leads the NJAC in goals per game (4.75) and points per game (7.00).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
GINA MAROTTA • Stockton University
Senior • Defense • Montville, NJ / Montville
Marotta becomes the second Osprey this season to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting eight draw controls, six ground balls, and four caused turnovers across two wins last week. The senior defender recorded a season-high six draw controls in Stockton's 24-5 victory over St. Joseph's (L.I.) and helped the Ospreys go 2-0 on the week. She currently ranks second in the NJAC in grounds balls per game (4.13).
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRIELLE SOLTYS • Stockton University
Freshman • Midfield • Absecon, NJ / Holy Spirit
Soltys garners NJAC Rookie of the Week recognition for the second time – and her third weekly honor overall – after another standout week. She recorded 11 points on six goals and five assists while helping Stockton win twice last week. The freshman set a single-game program record with 14 draw controls against Farmingdale State — the best mark in the NJAC this season — and finished the week with 24 total draw controls, a caused turnovers, and two ground balls. Soltys currently leads the conference in caused turnovers per game (2.88) and ranks sixth in draw controls (4.63) and ground balls (3.38) per game. She is also tied for third in total assists (12).
