Rowan's Troiano, MSU's Fiore, Ramapo's Biernacki Earn NJAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 7.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JOHNNY TROIANO • Rowan University
Senior • Forward • Hazlet, NJ / St. John Vianney
 
Troiano earned NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after recording his second hat trick of the season and the fourth of his career. The senior forward struck for three goals in a 4-3 win at No. 25 Messiah, converting a penalty and adding two more to help Rowan build a 3-1 lead. With the performance, Troiano surpassed 100 career points and now sits seventh on Rowan’s all-time scoring list with 42 goals and 17 assists (101 points). He leads the Profs with six goals in their 4-0 start.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DIESEL FIORE • Montclair State University
Graduate Student • Goalkeeper • Las Vegas, NV / Bishop Gorman
 
Fiore was named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after backstopping Montclair State to a pair of shutout victories. The graduate keeper made three saves in a 1-0 win over Swarthmore, then added two more stops in another 1-0 triumph against Manhattanville. Fiore has now posted three clean sheets in four games, conceding only one goal over 360 minutes to open the season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
DYLAN BIERNACKI • Ramapo College
Freshman • Forward • Oakland, NJ / Indian Hills
 
Biernacki captured NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after scoring the first two goals of his collegiate career to spark the Roadrunners’ unbeaten week. The freshman forward provided the game-winner in a 2-0 victory over Moravian, then delivered the equalizer in a 2-2 draw with Cairn. His timely scoring ensured Ramapo came away with a win and a draw, finishing the week with six shots, four on goal, and two in the back of the net.
