NJCU's Celi, MSU's Lapczynski, TCNJ's Dodd Earn NJAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 21.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DOM CELI • New Jersey City University
Sophomore • Forward • Newton, NJ/Newton

Celi takes NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after a prolific week that included four goals and two assists over three matches. The sophomore forward exploded for his first career hat trick and added one assist in NJCU's dominant 9-0 victory over Medgar Evers before adding the assist on the lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Lehman. He is now up to eight points on three goals and two assists this year, already quadrupling his output from a year ago.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SEBASTIAN LAPCZYNSKI • Montclair State University
Sophomore • Defender • Garfield, NJ/Garfield

Lapczynski earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition after a clutch performance in Montclair State's 1-0 victory over Vassar, a team receiving votes in the latest USC Top 25 poll. The sophomore defender helped anchor the Red Hawks' fifth consecutive shutout while blanking the Brewers, who had been averaging three goals per game and were shut out for the first time this season. Lapczynski also delivered when called upon in the 86th minute, converting a penalty kick for the game-winning goal.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CARSON DODD • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Goalkeeper • Forked River, NJ/Lacey Township

Dodd claims NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after pitching his third consecutive shutout in TCNJ's 0-0 draw against Arcadia. The freshman goalkeeper made two critical saves, including a crucial one-on-one stop in the first half that he parried away with his left hand to preserve the scoreless tie. Dodd has not allowed a goal in 270 minutes of action in his rookie campaign.
