Rutgers-Camden's Pino, WPU's Misko, MSU's Monteiro Earn NJAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 5.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DYLAN PINO • Rutgers University-Camden
Sophomore • Midfielder • Marlton, NJ/Cherokee
 
Pino is named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after he delivered two goals and two assists, including his first career game-winning goal, in a big 2-0 week for Rutgers-Camden. The sophomore midfielder scored the decisive goal with 5:57 remaining in a 2-1 road victory at Rutgers-Newark, then followed with one goal and two assists in a 4-3 upset of No. 10-ranked Rowan, including the helper on Nik Grello's eventual game-winner with 8:06 left. Pino is up to nine points on three goals and three assists this year.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LUCA MISKO • William Paterson University
Senior • Goalkeeper • Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan
 
Misko captures his second NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. He was outstanding during a perfect 2-0 week, making 14 saves while allowing just one goal. The senior goalkeeper denied seven shots in a 2-1 road win at Ramapo, including a crucial penalty kick save in the 75th minute to preserve the lead, then recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season with seven saves in a 1-0 victory at Rutgers-Newark. Misko currently ranks second among all NJAC keepers in save percentage (.851) and goals against average (.778).
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
TOMAS MONTEIRO • Montclair State University
Freshman • Forward • Jersey City, NJ/County Prep
 
Monteiro earns his first NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after he powered Montclair State to two conference victories with three goals, including the game-winner against Kean. The freshman forward netted both goals in a 2-1 win over Kean on Wednesday, then added another strike to help propel the Red Hawks to a 2-1 road triumph at TCNJ on Saturday. The rookie is up to four goals this season.
