PITMAN, NJ --- Rowan University freshman Rajahn Dixon (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) has been selected as the NJAC's G. Larry James Most Outstanding Athlete to highlight the 2024-25 NJAC Men's Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Team.
Additionally, The College of New Jersey freshman Maxim Rychkov (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) was named Outstanding Track Athlete; Stockton University sophomore Ahmad Fogg (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) was named Outstanding Field Athlete; and Rowan freshman Jamir Brown (Riverside, NJ/Riverside) was named Rookie of the Year. Rowan head coach Dustin Dimit and his staff were voted the Oscar Moore Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers.
All-Conference honors were determined by finish at the recent NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championship and major awards were voted on by the league's nine head coaches.
Dixon is rewriting record books all over the place in his first season in Glassboro. At the NJAC Championship, he was part of Rowan's winning 4x200 meter relay that posted an NCAA Division III all-time record time of 1:25.45. That time also ranks sixth in the history of the NCAA across all divisions. Individually, he won the 200 meters with a championship meet record and school record time of 21.34 seconds. That time was ranked fourth nationally this season after championship weekend and is currently sitting at eighth. Dixon also won gold in the 400 meters with a season-best and personal-best time of 48.15 seconds, which is currently among the top 30 in D3 this season.
Rychkov also had a memorable first collegiate indoor championship meet. He won silver in the 60 meter dash with a season-best and personal-best 6.79 seconds. That time was among the top 10 nationally as of championship weekend and is currently 12th in D3. His time was also one of two TCNJ times under the old meet record of 6.80 set by Olympian Cheickna Traore set three years ago. Rychkov also silver medaled in the 200 meters with another NCAA Top 10 time of 21.49 seconds. He currently owns the fifth-fastest 200 in D3 this year. He also had the best 200 and 400 relay splits of any NJAC athlete at the meet. He split 20.80 in the 4x200 relay to help the Lions to a school record 1:26.24. He split 47.5 on the 4x400 relay that combined for a 3:17.05. That time was top 25 nationally and Rychkov has since helped the Lions move up to third nationally at this past weekend's last chance meet.
Fogg had a strong championship meet across three jumping events. He won NJAC gold in the long jump, leaping 7.11 meters. He is currently ranked 23rd in NCAA Division III in that event. He also earned a bronze medal in the triple jump, hitting a mark of 14.28 meters which was ranked 22nd in D3 as of championship weekend and still sits among the top 30. Fogg also competed in the high jump, clearing 1.87 meters for fifth overall.
Brown exploded onto the scene for the vaunted Rowan hurdles crew this season. He posted an NJAC championship meet record of 7.74 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles preliminaries. That time ranks second in D3 history, only to his own 7.72 seconds set earlier this season. He went on to win the 60 hurdles gold at the NJAC Championship, clocking in a winning 7.94 in the event final. Brown is currently the top-ranked 60 meter hurdler in D3 by .16 second heading into nationals.
Dimit leads a coaching staff that was named the NJAC Oscar Moore Coaching Staff of the Year. Joined by Eric DuBois, Norm Tate, Milton Goode, John Oberg, Jassina Surles, Julian Pratt, Joseph Kalnas, and Seth Spicer, the Rowan staff guided the Profs to their tenth consecutive indoor title. Since taking over the program in 2014-15, Dimit is undefeated in NJAC indoor championship meets as head coach. This season, the Rowan staff coached the team to 11 event wins, seven second-place finishes, and eight third-place finishes. That medal count includes three podium sweeps.
