2024-25 NJAC Women's Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Announced

PITMAN, NJ --- Stockton University junior Kayla Kass (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) has been selected as the NJAC’s G. Larry James Most Outstanding Athlete to highlight the 2024-25 NJAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Team.

Additionally, Rowan University senior Molly Lodge (Woodstown, NJ/Woodstown) was named Outstanding Track Athlete; Stockton sophomore Elaina Styer (Estell Manor, NJ/Ocean City) was named Outstanding Field Athlete; and New Jersey City University junior Tonna Ogina (North Brunswick, NJ/Highland Park) was named Rookie of the Year. TCNJ head coach Justin Lindsey and his staff were voted as the Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers.

All-Conference honors were determined by finish at the recent NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championship and major awards were voted on by the league’s nine head coaches.

Kass was part of Stockton’s championship meet record-setting distance medley relay, along with Amanda McNally, Emma Conroy, and Madelyn Valasek. Kass split 2:14 as the quartet combined for a time of 12:09.60, shaving a whopping 14.03 seconds off a 25-year-old record held by TCNJ since 2000 (12:23.63). That time was also within the NCAA top 25. Kass also won the 800 meters with a season-best 2:12.05, a time that ranked 15th in the nation. She added a bronze medal to her weekend as part of Stockton’s 4x400 meter relay that finished in 3:59.14. Kass was a two-time NJAC Track Athlete of the Week this year.

Lodge won three golds and a bronze in her senior indoor championship meet. She won the 200 meters with a season-best time of 25.37 seconds. She was also part of two winning relays, including the 4x200 and 4x400 meters. The 4x200 posted a school record time of 1:40.75, a time that sat within the NCAA top 10. She helped the 4x400 set a new championship meet record of 3:53.87, which was also a season best for the Profs and within the NCAA top 25. Lodge added a 60 meter bronze, posting a season-best 7.86 seconds in the event.

Styer won conference gold in the first-ever pentathlon ever staged at the NJAC indoor championship meet. Her score of 3,628 points was ranked second in NCAA Division III this season as of championship weekend (currently fourth) and is a Stockton program record. She won all five events in the pentathlon, hitting personal bests in all of them. Styer also won conference silver in the high jump, clearing 1.63 meters. She was a Week 1 NJAC Field Athlete of the Week and Week 5 Track Athlete of the Week this season.

Ogina had a stellar championship meet in her first ever collegiate indoor season. She won gold medals in both the long jump and high jump, and added a fifth place finish in the triple jump. She cleared a personal best 1.63 meters to win the high jump and posted a winning leap of 5.25 meters in the long jump. Ogina was a Week 4 NJAC Field Athlete of the Week and Week 8 NJAC Rookie of the Week this season.

Lindsey and his staff of Michael Walker, Jon Hutchinson, Liz Madden, Jake Lindacher, Sean Burtnett, and Dana Deluca were named NJAC Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Lions to their seventh consecutive NJAC indoor title. Lindsey garners the honor for the 25th time overall in his 12 years as head coach, including men’s and women’s cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field. The Lions picked up 12 individual medals and two relay medals en route to their championship win.
