Rowan's Jones and Munson, Stockton's Styer Earn NJAC Women's Indoor Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's indoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending Dec. 7.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
NYLA JONES • Rowan University
Sophomore • Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek
 
Jones earned NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after a record-setting performance at the Fasttrack Invite. She clocked a time of 40.69 seconds in the 300 meters, the third-fastest time in the nation and the 11th-best time in NCAA Division III history while leading the NJAC after the opening weekend. Jones also placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.93 seconds, the top time in the conference and the 10th-fastest mark in Division III.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
ELAINA STYER • Stockton University
Junior • Estell Manor, NJ/Ocean City
 
Styer claimed NJAC Field Athlete of the Week recognition after competing in four events at the Fasttrack Season Opener. She placed second in both the long jump (5.50 meters) and high jump (1.55 meters) while finishing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.03 seconds that tied her own school record. She also ran a leg on Stockton's 4x400-meter relay team that finished fourth. Her long jump ranks 11th in NCAA Division III, her high jump is tied for 36th, and her 60-meter hurdles time ranks 16th nationally after the opening weekend, while the relay posted the 13th-fastest time in Division III.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
NAA'ILAH MUNSON • Rowan University
Freshman • Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson
 
Munson was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after placing fourth in the triple jump at the Fasttrack Invite with a leap of 11.16 meters. Her mark is tied for 13th in NCAA Division III and leads the NJAC after the opening weekend of competition.
