Ramapo's Dwah, TCNJ's Bruncaj, Stockton's DiPalma Earn NJAC Women's Indoor Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's indoor track and field weekly honors for the week ending Feb. 2.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
GBARPER DWAH • Ramapo College
Senior • Lincoln Park, NJ / Lincoln Park
 
Dwah collects her second NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honor of the season after an impressive showing at the Met Championships at Ocean Breeze. She won the 60m dash in 7.70 seconds, defeating a field of NCAA Division I competitors. She also competed in the 200m dash, finishing 11th with a time of 26.06 seconds. Dwah currently owns the Metro Region’s top 60m time of the season.
 
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
ELIZA BRUNCAJ • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Florham Park, NJ / Hanover Park
 
Bruncaj is named NJAC Field Athlete of the Week after an outstanding pentathlon performance at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational. She scored 3,058 points, placing sixth overall. Her score currently ranks second in the NJAC and third in the Metro Region, and is in the top 35 nationally. Her pentathlon results included a 9.36-second 60m hurdles (3rd place), 1.50m high jump (4th place), 7.40m shot put (13th place), 4.95m long jump (6th place), and 2:29.88 in the 800m (1st place).
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARLIE DIPALMA • Stockton University
Freshman • Hackettstown, NJ / Pope John XXIII
 
DiPalma earns NJAC Rookie of the Week for the first time after excelling at the Seamus McElligott Invitational. She claimed her first career victory in the long jump, finishing first out of 13 competitors with a mark of 4.99m, ranking in the top 20 of the Metro Region this year. DiPalma also finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 10.25 seconds.
