Stockton's Kass and Petrolia, MSU's Alby Earn NJAC Women's Indoor Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's indoor track and field weekly honors for the week ending Feb. 9.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
KAYLA KASS • Stockton University
Junior • Bayonne, NJ / Bayonne
 
Kass becomes the second Osprey this season to earn NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors. She ran 10th out of 86 runners in the 800m at the Fastrack National Invite, clocking 2:17.58. That time ranks first in the NJAC and Division III Metro Region this season. Kass also played a key role in Stockton's school-record-setting 4x400m relay team, which finished third out of 10 teams with a time of 3:58.38. That relay mark is now second in both the NJAC and Division III Metro Region.
 
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
EMMA PETROLIA • Stockton University
Junior • New Milford, NJ / New Milford
 
Petrolia is the second Osprey to earn NJAC Field Athlete of the Week this year. She recorded the best NJAC mark of the season in the triple jump, finishing eighth out of 29 competitors with a leap of 10.98m, which also ranks eighth in the Division III Metro Region. Petrolia also competed in the long jump, recording a mark of 5.03m to place 25th overall. Additionally, she was part of Stockton's record-breaking 4x400m relay team, which posted a 3:58.38 finish that now ranks second in the NJAC and Division III Metro Region.
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MCKAY ALBY • Montclair State University
Freshman • Jackson, NJ / Jackson Liberty
 
Alby is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career. The freshman sprinter had a breakout performance at the Fastrack Invite, posting two career-best times. She clocked a 7.93 in the 60-meter dash, which became the fastest time by a freshman in Montclair State history and ranks third overall in the NJAC and second among Metro Region freshmen. Alby also ran a 26.38 in the 200-meter dash, making it the fastest freshman time in the NJAC (seventh overall) and second in the Metro Region.
