New Paltz Duo Macleod and Centeri, MSU's Lane Earn NJAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 20.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ABBY MACLEOD • SUNY New Paltz
Junior • Forward • North Babylon, NY/North Babylon

MacLeod has been named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after delivering the biggest moment of her season, rocketing in a 78th-minute game-winner to upset No. 16 William Smith – New Paltz's first-ever regular season win over a ranked opponent. She added the Hawks' lone goal in Wednesday's loss to RPI, finishing the week with four points on a 1-1 stretch. Macleod is currently tied for the conference lead with two game-winning goals this season and is tied for fifth with four total goals.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JESS CENTERI • SUNY New Paltz
Junior • Goalkeeper • Selden, NY/Newfield

Centeri has been named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after backstopping perhaps the biggest win in program history – a nine-save shutout of No. 16 William Smith that gave New Paltz its first-ever regular season victory over a ranked opponent. The junior keeper also turned away nine shots in a tough one-goal loss to RPI, finishing the week with 18 total saves and a .900 save percentage. Centeri currently leads all NJAC keepers with four shutouts and 6.33 saves per game, and ranks second in the conference with a .927 save percentage.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARY LANE • Montclair State University
Freshman • Forward • Westfield, NJ/Westfield

Lane claimed NJAC Rookie of the Week after coming up clutch off the bench for the Red Hawks. Facing a 1-0 deficit in the second half at FDU-Florham, the first-year forward dished the game-tying assist before scoring the game-winning goal herself, lifting Montclair State to a 2-1 comeback win and keeping the Red Hawks unbeaten on the season. She is currently tied for third on the team with six points this season.
