WPU's Henderson, Rowan's Ferris, MSU's Lauber Earn NJAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 13.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JANIE HENDERSON • William Paterson University
Junior • Forward • Stanhope, NJ / Hopatcong

Henderson has been named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after recording her first career hat trick in a comeback 5-2 win at Penn State Abington, with all three goals coming within a 3:50 span in the second half. The junior forward also chipped in an assist during a 2-1 loss to St. Joseph's-Long Island earlier in the week, finishing with seven points on three goals and an assist. Henderson currently ranks fourth in the NJAC in both goals (4) and points (9).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HANNAH FERRIS • Rowan University
Junior • Defender • Woolwich Township, NJ / Kingsway Regional

Ferris helped anchor a stout Rowan defense that held nationally 13th-ranked Swarthmore to just nine shots — three on goal — in a 2-1 win, then limited Penn State-Brandywine to a single shot with none on target in an 8-0 rout. The junior defender also provided the winning margin against Swarthmore herself, heading in her first career goal off a corner kick with 1:22 remaining. She anchors a defense that has yielded just one goal so for this season and is outscoring opponents 17-1.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KAYLEE LAUBER • Montclair State University
Freshman • Forward • Branchburg, NJ / Somerville

Lauber has been named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the second straight week after a sensational 7-0 rout of Manhattanville, recording two goals and three assists for seven points in just 35 minutes of action to power the Red Hawks. She notched her first score just 57 seconds into the match, and then assisted the next two goals to put MSU up 3-0 just 15 minutes into action. She added a third assist on MSU’s fifth goal at 57:12 before converting a penalty kick just under three minutes later to put the score at 6-0. The rookie currently leads all NJAC players with 13 points and is tied for the most goals so far with five scores.
