WPU's Jacobs, Rutgers-Camden's Edmundo, Stockton's Enalls Earn NJAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending Feb.1.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JADA JACOBS • William Paterson University
Junior • Guard • Mount Laurel, NJ/Medford Tech
 
Jacobs garners her second and William Paterson’s fifth NJAC Player of the Week recognition after recording the first triple-double in program history since Feb. 28, 2018, as the Pioneers moved to 13-0 in conference play and 19-1 overall. The junior guard had a stellar all-around week, averaging 15.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 5.5 steals while shooting .560 from the field and .850 from the free-throw line. Against a Montclair State team tied for second in the conference standings, Jacobs posted career highs with 11 assists (most by a Pioneer since Jan. 24, 2011) and 10 steals (most since Feb. 28, 2018) while going a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe to finish with 15 points and six rebounds. She followed with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and 5-of-7 from the foul line while adding seven rebounds in a 58-49 victory at Rowan, keeping William Paterson's perfect conference record intact. Jacobs currently ranks second in both conference-only assists (3.2 apg) and conference-only steals (3.2 spg).
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Edmundo is named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording her fifth and sixth consecutive double-doubles during a 1-1 week for the Scarlet Raptors. The sophomore forward averaged 19.0 points and 16.0 rebounds across two games, tying her career rebounding high with 16 boards in both contests. Edmundo posted 18 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in a double-overtime loss at Rowan, then delivered 20 points and 16 rebounds in a huge 70-66 home victory over Montclair State. She led the Raptors to their first win over MSU since 2019. She now has 11 double-doubles on the season while leading Rutgers-Camden in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks. Edmundo ranks third in the NJAC in conference-only rebounding (10.6 rpg) and fourth in conference-only scoring (15.6 ppg).
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ZEMIRAH ENALLS • Stockton University
Freshman • Forward • Barnegat, NJ/Barnegat
 
Enalls secures NJAC Rookie of the Week recognition for the fourth time after averaging 20.5 points and 14.0 rebounds while shooting .708 from the field during a 1-1 week for the Ospreys. The freshman forward set a new single-game program record with 24 rebounds while scoring 26 points in an 88-35 triumph over Rutgers-Newark, then added 15 points and four rebounds against TCNJ. Enalls also contributed three blocked shots and two steals for the week, showcasing her versatility on both ends of the floor. She is the leading rookie rebounder in the NJAC, ranking second overall in conference-only rebounding (11.0 rpg), while adding 10.7 points per game in league play.
