Stockton Advances to NJAC Semifinals with 67-60 Win

Galloway, N.J. - Stockton University (16-10) advances to the NJAC Tournament semifinals with a 67-60 victory over Montclair State (15-11) in the first round of the NJAC playoffs. Stockton was the No. 4 seed and Montclair was the No. 5 seed.
 
An explosive first quarter led the Ospreys into the second quarter leading 17-14. The Ospreys were led in the first by Zemirah Enalls (Barnegat/Barnegat) who went 4-5 from the field for eight points and pulled down three rebounds, plus Grace Speer's (Estell Manor/ACIT) five points.

The momentum continued into the second quarter. The Ospreys shot 50% from the field and outscored Montclair 15-14. Enalls remained a force on the boards with five rebounds to go with four points.
 
Lauren Winant (Middletown/Middletown South) and Imene Fathi (Wildwood/Wildwood) were persistent on offense, with Fathi adding five points in the quarter and Winant chipping in four points.

The Ospreys went into the third quarter leading 32-28 and the game remained a close contest with Montclair. Enalls netted six points, but Montclair was able to grab their first lead of the game in the third quarter behind an offensive surge that was led by Alyssa Craigwell's six points and seven rebounds.
 
Montclair continued their momentum and were leading late into the fourth quarter at 60-57 with less than three minutes on the clock, Haleigh Schafer (Egg Harbor City/Absegami) landed a shot with 2:23 left, sparking Stockton on a ten-point comeback run to end the game 67-60.
 
The run was led by Bre Evans (Neptune/Neptune) with four points. Evans grabbed 10 points in the quarter, ending with 19 total. Evans also picked up three rebounds and three assists. Enalls got six points in the fourth period, finishing with 24 points and 19 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season.
 
Fathi contributed 11 points and three assists for the Ospreys as well. The Red Hawks were led by Bella Bruce (18) and Alyssa Craigwell (17), who combined for 35 points.

Stockton will travel to face No.1 seed William Paterson, ranked 18th in the WBCA national poll, on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the NJAC Tournament semifinals.
