PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's indoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending Jan. 18.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
GABRIELLA PAGANO • Rowan University
Senior • Blairstown, NJ/Pope John XXIII
Pagano claimed NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after posting a personal-best 4:56.71 in the mile at the Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze on Jan. 16. The senior's performance stands as the fourth-fastest time in Division III this season while topping both the NJAC and Metro Region rankings.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
ELAINA STYER • Stockton University
Junior • Estell Manor, NJ/Ocean City
Styer earned NJAC Field Athlete of the Week recognition after a dominant showing at the Gotham Cup that included clearing 1.60 meters in the high jump and breaking her own school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.93. The junior's high jump mark is tied for first in the NJAC, tied for third in the Metro Region, and tied for 29th nationally, while her hurdles time shares the top spot in both the NJAC and Metro Region and sits tied for 12th in the nation.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
DENIRAH JONES • Rowan University
Freshman • Camden, NJ/Woodbury
Jones was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after blazing to a 7.88 in the 60-meter dash at the Gotham Cup at Ocean Breeze. The freshman's impressive debut clocks in as the second-fastest time in the NJAC, fourth in the Metro Region, and among the top 50 nationally this season.
