PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's swimming & diving weekly honors for the week ending Dec. 14.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
TEAGUE MAYER • United States Merchant Marine Academy

Mayer earned NJAC Swimmer of the Week honors after leading the Mariners to a dual-meet victory over Division II Adelphi on Thursday. The senior backstroker opened the meet by anchoring the 200 medley relay's leadoff leg with a 24.73 50-yard backstroke split, helping the relay finish in 1:35.07. He followed with a winning time of 1:58.26 in the 200 individual medley before closing his evening with a 52.67 performance in the 100 backstroke. Both his 100 back and 200 IM times were season bests.

Kov claimed NJAC Diver of the Week recognition after breaking two USMMA diving records in Thursday's home victory over Division II Adelphi. The freshman opened competition with a score of 379.88 in the 3-meter event to establish a new academy record. He followed by posting 374.03 in the 1-meter discipline to claim his second school record of the evening while helping lead the Mariners to the dual-meet triumph. His 1-meter score ranks sixth in NCAA Division III and his 3-meter score is seventh nationally; both are the top marks in the NJAC as well.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
KEANNE HERNANDEZ • United States Merchant Marine Academy

Hernandez was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after contributing to the Mariners' dual-meet victory over Division II Adelphi on Thursday. The freshman won the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.74 while also touching in 22.02 in the 50 freestyle. He served as the third leg of the 200 medley relay that finished in 1:35.07, posting a 50-yard butterfly split of 22.81 to help secure the relay victory. Hernandez currently ranks among the top 12 in the NJAC in the 100 butterfly this season.
