Salisbury's Hanlon and Rachael, MSU's Balay Earn NJAC Men's Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's swimming & diving weekly honors for the week ending Nov. 2.
 

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
BRODY HANLON • Salisbury University
Sophomore • Breaststroke/IM/Butterfly • Mt. Airy, MD/Linganore
 
Hanlon becomes the second Sea Gull this season to earn NJAC Swimmer of the Week honors after capturing four medals with two golds and two silvers to help Salisbury roll over Rowan. The sophomore touched first in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:05.20), which converts to the third-fastest time in the NJAC this season, and the 200-meter breaststroke (2:27.44), the sixth-fastest in the conference. Hanlon also placed second in the 200 individual medley (2:14.41) and earned a silver medal with the Salisbury C-team in the 200 medley relay (1:45.22).
 
DIVER OF THE WEEK
RYDER BALAY • Montclair State University
Sophomore • Diver • Cresskill, NJ/Don Bosco Prep
 
Balay earns NJAC Diver of the Week honors after winning in his first dive attempts of the season during Montclair's 144-115 triumph over Vassar. The sophomore posted a score of 115.95 on 5 dives and 145.28 on 6 dives in the victory.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
EVERETT RACHAEL • Salisbury University
Freshman • Freestyle/Backstroke • Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown Area
 
Rachael is selected as NJAC Rookie of the Week following a dominant performance in the Sea Gulls' convincing win over Rowan, becoming the second Salisbury rookie this season to do so. The freshman secured two golds and a silver, winning the backstroke double by touching first in the 100-meter backstroke (59.59), the sixth-fastest time in the NJAC, and the 200-meter backstroke (2:09.82), the fourth-fastest in the conference. Rachael also took second as part of the 200 medley relay (1:45.22).
