TCNJ's Hart, Rowan's Juiliano and Weisler Earn NJAC Field Hockey Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its field hockey weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 19.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MACKENZIE HART • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Midfield/Forward • Bayville, NJ/Central Regional
 
Hart earns her first and TCNJ’s fourth NJAC Offensive Player of the Week award after she dominated the offensive end with four goals across two conference matchups against Rowan and Montclair State. The senior scored the opening goal in Wednesday's shootout loss to 14th-ranked Rowan, then registered her first career hat trick by converting all three of her shots in Saturday's 6-0 rout of the Red Hawks, including the game-winning goal. Hart has now scored six goals in her last four games and has recorded a point in five consecutive outings. She leads the NJAC in conference-only goals (6) and conference-only points (13).
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MARIAH JUILIANO • Rowan University
Senior • Goaltender • Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown
 
Juiliano collects her second and Rowan’s fourth NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor. She was instrumental in Rowan's perfect week, making 11 saves across two victories to maintain the Profs' eight-game winning streak. The senior goalie stopped seven shots in the thrilling 4-3 shootout victory over 21st-ranked TCNJ, including a crucial save in the first overtime and four additional stops in the shootout. She added four more saves in the 5-2 win over Kean. Juiliano currently ranks second in conference-only goals against average (1.64) and fourth in conference-only save percentage (.688).
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SOPHIA WEISLER • Rowan University
Freshman • Midfielder • Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade
 
Weisler collects her second and Rowan’s sixth NJAC Rookie of the Week award. She caged two crucial goals during Rowan's perfect week, helping the 14th-ranked Profs extend their winning streak to eight games. The freshman midfielder scored Rowan's first goal to tie the match at 1-1 against 21st-ranked TCNJ in a game the Profs eventually won 4-3 in a shootout, then added the team's fourth goal in a 5-2 victory over Kean. She now has four goals in her last four contests. Weisler is currently tied for third in the NJAC in conference-only goals (4) and tied for fourth in conference-only points (9).
