TCNJ's Huff and Maher, Rowan's Weisler Earn NJAC Field Hockey Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its field hockey weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 12.
 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JADYN HUFF • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Forward/Midfielder • Burlington, NJ/Princeton Day School
 
Huff was selected NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after an explosive performance in a pair of conference victories for the Lions. The junior forward tallied three goals and one assist, recording two goals in a 7-0 rout of Kean on Wednesday before adding a goal and an assist in Saturday's 6-0 shutout at William Paterson. She ranks second in the NJAC in goals (9), assists (5), and points (23).
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ISABEL MAHER • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Midfield/Back • Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes
 
Maher became the second Lion this season to earn NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after anchoring TCNJ's defense in back-to-back shutout victories. The junior midfielder/defender scored two goals in Saturday's 6-0 blanking of William Paterson while helping the Lions hold their opponents scoreless for the week. She helped the Lions defense hold Kean to just five shots (three on goal) in the 7-0 win and hold the Pioneers without a shot in the 6-0 win. Maher is up to three goals this season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SOPHIA WEISLER • Rowan University
Freshman • Midfield/Back • Maple Shade, NJ/Maple Shade
 
Weisler was tabbed NJAC Rookie of the Week – her first and Rowan’s fifth Rookie honor – after a clutch performance in Rowan's 5-4 thriller over Stockton. The freshman midfielder/back recorded two goals and one assist, scoring the Profs' opening goal and assisting on the second before caging a crucial tying goal with two minutes remaining that set up Mia Foti's game-winner. Weisler now has three goals on the season as Rowan rides a six-game winning streak.
