TCNJ Sweeps NJAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors; Meder, Maceri, Najdzinowicz Honored

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 19.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHRIS MEDER • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Forward • Marlton, NJ/Cherokee

Meder is named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time. He was the driving force in an undefeated week for the Lions, tallying two goals and two assists in a pair of conference victories. The junior opened the week with a goal in TCNJ's 2-0 win over Rutgers-Camden before adding two assists and a second goal of his own in a 3-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark. Meder now leads the Lions and ranks top three in the NJAC in both overall assists with seven and overall points with 23.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MATT MACERI • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Back • Cedar Grove, NJ/Seton Hall Prep

Maceri earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after he did it all for the Lions in an undefeated week of NJAC play, scoring his first collegiate goal while leading TCNJ's defense to a pair of shutout wins. The freshman opened his week by netting his first collegiate score—one that would end up being the game winner—in the Lions' 2-0 win over Rutgers-Camden. He followed that up by helping TCNJ post its third consecutive shutout and second of the week in a 3-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark. Maceri has seen over 1200 minutes of action in his rookie season so far.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SEAN NAJDZINOWICZ • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Goalkeeper • Tinton Falls, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy

Najdzinowicz is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. The freshman keeper was excellent between the posts, posting a pair of shutout wins in an undefeated week for TCNJ. Drawing both starts in victories over Rutgers-Camden and Rutgers-Newark, he made a combined eight saves to double his season-long clean sheet total from two to four. Najdzinowicz now leads the NJAC in both goals against average at .60 and save percentage at .889 in conference play.
