PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's swimming and diving weekly honors for the week ending Jan. 12.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
TEAGUE MAYER • United States Merchant Marine Academy
Junior • Boulder, CO/Boulder
Mayer is named NJAC Swimmer of the Week after he dominated in Merchant Marine's dual meet victory over Scranton, winning all three individual events he competed in. Mayer led off the 400 medley relay that finished first in 3:32.69, and claimed victories in the 200 butterfly (season-best 1:52.69) and the 200 backstroke. His 200 back and 200 fly times were among the best in the NJAC this season. He also anchored the exhibition 200 free relay, which finished first with a time of 1:28.11.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
ETHAN WEISS • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Wrightstown, NJ/Northern Burlington
Weiss collects his fourth and TCNJ’s fifth NJAC Diver of the Week honor. He broke his own school records in both the 1-meter 6 dives (393.67) and 11 dives (612.07). His 11-dive score is currently the best in NCAA Division III this season and his six-dive score ranks seventh nationally. He also set a new season-best in the 3-meter 6 dives (364.47), which ranks eighth nationally.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
M.J. HOBAN • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Newark, DE/Sanford School
Hoban is named NJAC Rookie of the Week after winning three events in TCNJ’s dual meet with Franklin and Marshall. Hoban won the 100 freestyle (48.92), the 50 freestyle skins (21.82), and led off the victorious 8 x 50 freestyle relay (2:55.25). This marked the first time Hoban achieved a hat-trick of wins in a dual meet.
