PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's lacrosse weekly honors for the week ending May 7.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ANNA DEVLIN • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Attack • Marmora, NJ/Ocean City
Devlin is named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after powering No. 6 TCNJ to its 12th straight NJAC title with tournament wins over Kean and Rowan. She tallied four goals and two assists for six points, racked up 20 draw controls, and recorded four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Her 20 draw controls bring her overall career record to 334, which is the most in TCNJ program history. In the semifinal win over Kean, she scored one goal and assisted on another while controlling eight draws and scooping two ground balls. In the championship game win over Rowan, she recorded a hat trick with three goals and an assist while racking up 12 draw controls along with two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JULIA CHAREST • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Goalie • Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson
Charest earns NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after anchoring TCNJ’s defense to the NJAC championship title with wins over Kean and Rowan. The junior goalie made 14 saves in the tournament while yielding just nine goals for a .609 save percentage and 6.00 goals against average. She needed just three saves and did not yield a goal in 30 minutes against Kean. She then posted 11 saves in the championship game win over Rowan. Charest leads NJAC starting goalies in both goals against average (7.33) and save percentage (.519) for the season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ELAINA CORSON • Rowan University
Freshman • Attack • Hainesport, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional
Corson earns her sixth NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after helping Rowan advance to the NJAC championship game. She recorded a hat trick with three goals in the semifinal win over Stockton while adding two ground balls and a caused turnover. In the championship game against TCNJ, she scoooped two ground balls. The rookie finished her first season in Glassboro ranked second on the team with 47 goals scored.
