Ramapo's Traore, Camden's Misko, Rowan's Young Earn NJAC Men's Track & Field Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's indoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending Feb. 6.

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CHEICKNA TRAORE • Ramapo College
Junior • Jersey City, NJ/Innovation

Traore picks up NJAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for his performance at the MET Championships at Ocean Breeze over the weekend. Traore posted a time of 21.61 seconds in the 200 meter dash which is currently the sixth best time in NCAA Division III, when converted for a banked track (22.00 seconds). Traore also lowers his own school record and qualifies him for the AARTFC and ECAC/IC4A championship meets later this season. In the 60 meter dash, Traore finished third overall with a time of 7.01 seconds while his prelim time was 6.97.


FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JUDE MISKO • Rutgers-Camden
Senior • Philadelphia, PA/Cherry Hill East

Misko is named NJAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week. He won his latest award after finishing first out of 21 athletes in the weight throw at the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College. Misko’s throw of 17.71 meters not only broke his own Rutgers-Camden program record, but it dominated the field at the Colden meet by over 2.5 meters. His previous program best mark was 17.03 meters, set at the NJAC Championship in 2020.


ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARQUISE YOUNG • Rowan University
Sophomore • Glendora, NJ/Sterling

Young earns NJAC Rookie of the Week for the first time after his performance at the Bomber Invite at Ithaca College. Young ran the fastest NJAC mark and 19th fastest time in Division III this season in the 60 meter hurdles. He finished in second place with a time of 8.30. He also competed in the 200 meters, clocking a 23.44, and ran a leg of the Profs’ 4x400 relay that finished in 3:27.54.
