PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's basketball weekly honors for the week ending Nov. 28.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ISABELLA CAFARO • The College of New Jersey
Sophomore • Guard/Forward • Tewksbury, NJ/Voorhees
Cafaro collects her first career NJAC Player of the Week honor after leading the Lions to a 70-68 win over preseason favorite Rowan in the conference opener. She posted her first career double-double with 13 points and career-high 10 rebounds, achieving the double-double in just 21 minutes in reserve action. She went 6-for-7 from the free throw line and shot just shy of 40 percent from the field. Cafaro is third on the Lions’ squad in scoring with 9.0 points per game. She is adding 5.6 rebounds per game and has hit 85 percent (11-for-13) of her free throws so far this season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MADISON LaROSA • Stockton University
Freshman • Guard • Oceanport, NJ/Shore Regional
LaRosa earns her second straight NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after leading the Ospreys to a conference-opening win over Rutgers-Camden. She scored 20 points for the third straight game and added three rebounds, three steals, and an assist. LaRosa is currently sixth in the NJAC in scoring (17.8 ppg), second in 3-point percentage (.333) and tied for second with 2.7 threes per game.
