TRENTON, NJ – TCNJ women's basketball coach Chessie Jackson was honored earlier this week by the New Jersey General Assembly.
Jackson was recognized at the State House as part of the General Assembly's tribute to female coaches from around the state in celebration of Women's History Month. TCNJ alumna and NJ Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson '94 nominated Jackson for the recognition and read a resolution in official acknowledgment of the honor.
Jackson has been at the helm of TCNJ Women's Basketball for the last eight seasons, compiling an overall record of 134-66 (.670) and leading the Lions to four NJAC championship game appearances, as well as an NCAA Tournament second round berth in 2018. Her teams have reached the NJAC semifinals every year of her tenure, and Jackson is a robust 99-35 (.739) in conference play for her career.
Jackson is a three-time NJAC Coach of the Year and was named Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2018 by D3hoops.com.
