Craigwell, Harvey Reel in Major Regional Awards; Branchizio, Vaughn Named to All-Region Teams

PITMAN --- Montclair State's freshman forward Alyssa Craigwell and head coach Karin Harvey reeled in major awards from D3hoops.com as Craigwell was tabbed the Region 4 Rookie of the Year and Harvey was named the Region 4 Coach of the Year.

Additionally, Craigwell was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 4 Second Team, and was joined on the All-Region Team by TCNJ's Nina Branchizio (First Team) and Kean's Maddison Vaughn (Third Team).

Craigwell adds this recognition to her NJAC Rookie of the Year and All-NJAC First Team honors, which she earned in February. She had a stellar freshman season for the Red Hawks, averaging 15.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. The seven-time NJAC Rookie of the Week also led the team with 60 steals and 36 blocks. Her contributions were instrumental in the team's NJAC Championship run and the NCAA Tournament first-round victory, where she scored 27 points in a 67-64 upset over #3/#9 Christopher Newport.

Harvey earned Coach of the Year after leading Montclair to its best turnaround season in program history. Last season, Montclair finished 9-16 overall and 6-12 in the NJAC, missing the conference tournament. Projected to finish seventh this season and considered a "dark horse", Montclair State defied expectations, finishing 24-5 overall and 15-3 in the NJAC, securing Harvey's seventh NJAC Championship. She also guided the team to its first NCAA Playoff win since the 2017-18 season with their victory over Christopher Newport. Harvey and her staff were also named NJAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Branchizio add the honor to her earlier NJAC Player of the Year and First Team accolade. She led the NJAC and ranked in the top-5 in Division III with a school-record 86 3-pointers this season, extending her all-time program benchmark to 274 for her career. She averaged a team-high 12.7 points per game and shot 37.2 percent from beyond the arc, good for second in the NJAC and just outside the top-50 nationally. Branchizio's 3.19 treys per game rank sixth in all of Division III. In addition to her 3-point records, she ranks 13th on TCNJ's all-time scoring list (1,137) as well as 14th in both assists (238) and steals (128).

Vaughn had a strong 2024–25 season, averaging 13.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game over 27 contests. She recorded 12 double-doubles, showcasing her consistency as a dominant force on both ends of the court. Vaughn scored in double figures 20 times, including a career-high 31 points against William Paterson on February 12. She also grabbed 10 or more rebounds in 15 games, with her best rebounding performance coming on February 1 against NJCU, where she pulled down 18 boards. Her season totals included 351 points, 272 rebounds, 84 assists, 66 steals, and 34 blocks, all while shooting an efficient 46.9% from the field.
