TCNJ's Ayar, Rowan's McNamee and Moore Earn First NJAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors of 2026

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 6.

 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AIDAN AYAR • The College of New Jersey
Sophomore • Midfielder • Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.
 
Ayar has been named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after erupting for four goals in three games to help TCNJ open the 2026 season unbeaten at 1-0-2. The sophomore came off the bench to score in the Lions' opener against Manhattanville, then found the net twice against Elmira before delivering the opening goal in a draw against Ithaca. Ayar leads the NJAC in goals through opening week, already matching his goal total from all of last season.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LUKE MCNAMEE • Rowan University
Senior • Back • Pearl River, NY/Pearl River
 
McNamee earned the first NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors of the 2026 season after helping anchor a perfect 2-0 week for No. 12 Rowan, with the Profs allowing just a single goal across both matches. The senior back tallied an assist in each win, setting up the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Stockton before assisting on the Profs' second goal in a 2-0 win at then-No. 6 Dickinson. He helped the back line limit opponents to just four shots on goal each.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MIKE MOORE • Rowan University
Freshman • Goalkeeper • Toms River, NJ/Toms River East
 
Moore has been named the first NJAC Rookie of the Week of the 2026 season after a standout debut between the pipes for No. 12 Rowan. The freshman went 2-0 in his first two collegiate starts, posting a 0.50 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage. Moore allowed just one goal in his debut win over Stockton before recording his first career shutout with four saves while facing 14 shots in a win at then-No. 6 Dickinson.
