PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's soccer weekly honors for the week ending Sept. 20.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TANNER GROZINSKI • Rowan University
Freshman • Forward • Toms River, NJ/Lacey Township
Grozinski has been named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after posting a career-best five points in a 7-0 win over Manhattanville, assisting on Rowan's first two goals before scoring one himself in the 52nd minute and adding another helper four minutes later. The performance came on the heels of a scoreless tie against No. 9 Scranton, as the Profs went 1-0-1 on the week. Grozinski leads Rowan and ranks fifth in the NJAC in scoring with nine points, while his team-high five assists rank second among all NJAC players, as the Profs have outscored opponents 15-2 on the season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
GREG FERREIRA • Rowan University
Senior • Defender • Gladstone, NJ/Bernardsville
Ferreira claimed NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping anchor a Rowan defense that has allowed just two goals all season. The senior led a defensive unit that held No. 9 Scranton to six shots in a scoreless tie, then limited Manhattanville to seven shots in a 7-0 win. Rowan has posted back-to-back shutouts and three in its last four matches and is currently the NJAC’s best scoring defense, allowing just 0.33 goals per game.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
COOPER ADINOLFI • Stockton University
Freshman • Forward • Medford, NJ/Shawnee
Adinolfi has earned NJAC Rookie of the Week after delivering a goal and an assist in an upset win over Arcadia, helping Stockton to a 3-2 victory. The goal was his fourth of the season, tying him for the team lead, while the assist was the first of his career. He currently ranks fourth in the NJAC in goals with four on the season.
