Stockton's Panagopoylos and Clauss, Rowan's McCutcheon, MSU's Tarabokia Earn NJAC Softball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its softball weekly award winners for the week ending April 19.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALEXA PANAGOPOYLOS • Stockton University
Junior • Infield • Atco, NJ / Hammonton
 
Panagopoylos becomes the second Osprey to earn NJAC Player of the Week honors after leading Stockton's offense through a 4-2 week with a .556 batting average, 10 hits, eight RBI, and five doubles in 18 at-bats. The junior was at her best in conference play as she led Stockton to a perfect 4-0 week against NJAC opponents. She went 4-for-7 with two doubles and three RBI in a doubleheader sweep of TCNJ before posting a 5-for-7 mark with five RBI and three doubles against Ramapo, including a 4-for-4 effort with two doubles and three RBI in the series opener. Panagopoylos led the team in batting average, hits, doubles, and RBI for the week while striking out just once in 18 plate appearances. She currently leads the NJAC in both conference-only hits (20) and RBI (17) and is among the top 10 in both conference-only batting average (.444) and slugging percentage (.667).
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
EMILY McCUTCHEON • Rowan University
Senior • Pitcher • Mt. Ephraim, NJ / Audubon
 
McCutcheon claimed her first and Rowan’s second NJAC Pitcher of the Week recognition of the season after a dominant 3-0 week in which she threw 18.0 innings without allowing an earned run, holding opponents to a .086 batting average. The senior opened the week by spinning her second career no-hitter against Rutgers-Camden, striking out four in a 4-0 victory. She returned Saturday to toss a three-hit shutout with four strikeouts in a 3-0 win over William Paterson. McCutcheon also went 4.0 innings in a 9-0 midweek victory over Penn State-Abington, finishing the week with 11 strikeouts and one walk across her three outings. She currently leads the NJAC in conference-only ERA (0.47) and ranks second in conference-only opponent batting average (.181).

EMILY CLAUSS • Stockton University
Freshman • Infield • Delanco, NJ / BCIT
 
Clauss has been selected as NJAC Rookie of the Week after a productive four-game conference stretch in a 4-2 week for the Ospreys. The freshman batted .400 (8-for-20) with a home run, four RBI, and a double on the week, delivering her biggest moments against conference opponents. Against Ramapo, Clauss delivered the walkoff hit in an 8-inning 5-4 victory in the opener before slugging a home run and driving in three runs in the nightcap. She also went 3-for-7 with a double and an RBI in a doubleheader sweep of TCNJ to open the week. The rookie is among the top 10 in the NJAC in conference-only slugging percentage (.676).
 
ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JORDAN TARABOKIA • Montclair State University
Pitcher • North Brunswick, NJ / North Brunswick
 
Tarabokia has been named NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this year after going 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA across 14.0 innings in a 6-0 week for the Red Hawks. The freshman struck out 13 batters while completing both of her starts. She fanned six in a complete game victory over NJCU before striking out seven in a complete game win over Rutgers-Camden on Saturday, finishing that outing with just two earned runs allowed on six hits.
