Rowan's Dansky, TCNJ's Knasiak, Ramapo's Notaro, MSU's Tarabokia Earn NJAC Softball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its softball weekly award winners for the week ending March 15.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MIKAYLA DANSKY • Rowan University
Sophomore • Outfield • Staten Island, NY / Susan E. Wagner
 
Dansky earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after a remarkable week at the plate and on the bases, batting .542 (13-for-24) with seven RBI, 14 runs scored, and 13 stolen bases as Rowan went 6-2. She stole multiple bases in five of the eight games, with three swipes in a 16-4 win over Manchester. The sophomore outfielder also hit safely in seven of the eight games with four multi-hit and four multi-RBI performances. She was particularly dominant to close the week, going 3-for-3 with three runs and two stolen bases against Fredonia before adding three more hits, four runs, and three steals against Manchester on Sunday. Dansky also drove in two runs in a win over Wittenberg and reached base multiple times in the wins over Oneonta to open the week.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
MAYA KNASIAK • The College of New Jersey

Knasiak is named NJAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time on the young season after a dominant pair of complete game shutouts, holding opponents to a .067 batting average across 14 innings while striking out 16. The junior opened the week with a near-perfect outing against Albion, fanning 11 batters while allowing just one hit in a 7-0 win, then followed with a two-hit, five-strikeout performance in a tight 1-0 victory over Vermont State-Castleton. Through six appearances this season, Knasiak leads the NJAC with 49 strikeouts and is holding opponents to a .129 average.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
AIMEE NOTARO • Ramapo College
Freshman • First Base/DP • Marlboro, NJ / Marlboro
 
Notaro is the second Roadrunner in as many weeks to earn NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after batting .636 (7-for-11) with four RBI and five runs scored as Ramapo went a perfect 4-0. The freshman first baseman recorded at least one hit and one RBI in all four games, posting a .727 slugging percentage and a .667 on-base percentage on the week. She was at her best against Hiram, going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and followed with a 2-for-3 effort with an RBI against Smith. She also swiped two bases on the week, with a stolen base against Clarkson and another against Meredith. The Roadrunners outscored opponents 40-4 on the week.
 
ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JORDAN TARABOKIA • Montclair State University
Freshman • Pitcher • North Brunswick, NJ / North Brunswick
 
Tarabokia garners NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week after a standout stretch of three appearances totaling 11 innings with a 1.27 ERA and a team-leading 12 strikeouts. The freshman opened with five innings in a no-decision against WPI, striking out seven, before bouncing back from a brief outing against Catholic to deliver her signature performance — the program's 43rd no-hitter against Dean, a complete game six-inning shutout in which she allowed just one walk and struck out five.
