PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's outdoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending April 19.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
NOAH TRAVERSO • The College of New Jersey
Sophomore • West Milford, NJ / West Milford
Traverso becomes the second Lion this season to earn NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after a standout performance at the Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University. The sophomore reset his own program record in the 400 meters with a 47.37 — currently the 12th-fastest mark in Division III this year — before turning around and leading off the 4x400 relay with a 46.20 split, helping TCNJ post a 3:11.49 that ranks as the second-fastest relay time in Division III this season. Traverso also contributed a leg on the 4x100 relay, where his team posted a 41.34.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JOSHUA JUSTIN • Rowan University
Junior • Clifton, NJ / Passaic County Tech
Justin claimed his first and Rowan’s fifth NJAC Field Athlete of the Week honor of the outdoor season after producing the second-best triple jump mark in Division III this year at the Virginia Challenge. The junior leaped 14.97 meters for an outdoor personal record, delivering the performance against a field that included Division I competition.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
MARKOS HANTSOULIS • Montclair State University
Freshman • Highland Park, NJ / Highland Park
Hantsoulis earned his second NJAC Rookie of the Week recognition after claiming his fourth consecutive javelin victory at the Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University. The freshman launched a throw of 63.31 meters — winning the event by nearly seven meters over the runner-up. He currently owns the nation’s fourth-ranked javelin mark.
