Montclair State's Beal and Hantsoulis, Rowan's Hester Earn First NJAC Men's Outdoor Weekly Honors of 2026

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's outdoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending March 22.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
JAHMIR BEAL • Montclair State University
Freshman • Sprints • Perth Amboy, NJ/Woodbridge
 
Beal earns the first NJAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor after opening the 2026 outdoor season with a 22.03-second effort in the 200-meter dash at the Stockton Invitational. His time leads the NJAC and the Metro Region and ranks 34th nationally after the first weekend of competition.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
DAMITRIUS HESTER • Rowan University
Junior • Throws • Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah
 
Hester has been selected as the first NJAC Field Athlete of the Week of the outdoor season after breaking the Rowan program record in the modern javelin era with a throw of 72.04 meters at the Stockton Invitational. The mark leads all of Division III this season and ranks seventh all-time in D3 history, surpassing the previous modern-era school record of 70.39 meters set by Greg Poloso in 2022.

MARKOS HANTSOULIS • Montclair State University
Freshman • Throws • Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park
 
Hantsoulis claims the first NJAC Rookie of the Week honor of the 2026 outdoor season after setting a Montclair State program record with a 67.55-meter javelin throw in his first collegiate outdoor meet at the Stockton Invitational. The freshman's mark is second nationally, only behind Hester.
