Stockton Sweeps First NJAC Women's Outdoor Weekly Honors; Petrolia, Freda, Rick Honored

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's outdoor track and field weekly honors for the week ending March 23.
 

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
EMMA PETROLIA • Stockton University
Junior • New Milford, N.J. / New Milford
 
Petrolia earns the first NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors of the outdoor season after a pair of standout performances at the Stockton Invitational. She dominated the 400-meter hurdles, winning the event by over three seconds with a time of 1:03.52 — a mark that ranks first in the NJAC and seventh nationally. Petrolia also ran a leg on the Ospreys’ 4x400 relay team that won in 4:01.17, another conference-leading time.
 
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
ISABELLA FREDA • Stockton University
Senior • Verona, N.J. / Verona
 
Freda claims the first NJAC Field Athlete of the Week honors of the outdoor season after a dominant showing in the hammer throw at the Stockton Invitational. She won the event with a mark of 45.25 meters, finishing over 10 feet ahead of the rest of the field. Her throw currently ranks first in the NJAC and 11th nationally. Freda’s performance helped lead a strong weekend for Stockton’s throws squad.
 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SYDNEY RICK • Stockton University
Freshman • Pennington, N.J. / Hopewell Valley
 
Rick earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after a career-best performance in the pole vault at the Stockton Invitational. She cleared 3.20 meters to place second overall, placing second only on a tiebreaker to a teammate. The mark ties her for first in the NJAC and establishes her as the top freshman in the conference in the event early in the season.
