TCNJ's Baylock, WPU's Walsh, Rutgers-Camden's Collier Earn NJAC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending Dec. 7.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AMANDA BAYLOCK • The College of New Jersey
Sophomore • Guard • Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood
 
Baylock earned NJAC Player of the Week honors after averaging 21.0 points on elite shooting splits of 54 percent from the field, 50 percent from three-point range, and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line during a 2-0 conference week for TCNJ. She opened with nine points including three three-pointers in a 69-43 win over Stockton on Tuesday. She followed with a career-high 33 points, draining seven three-pointers in just 25 minutes of action during a dominant 91-45 victory over Kean on Friday. Baylock leads the NJAC in three-pointers made per game at 3.4 while ranking fourth in the conference in scoring at 18.3 points per game.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PATTY WALSH • William Paterson University
Senior • Forward • Middletown, NJ/Middletown North
 
Walsh claimed NJAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition after averaging 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, and 2.0 steals during a 2-0 week for William Paterson. She recorded 12 rebounds, four blocks, and two steals in a 65-60 conference win over Montclair State on Tuesday. She followed with eight rebounds, two blocks, and two steals in a 58-49 victory against Stockton on Friday. Walsh also contributed 10.5 points per game on the week, providing strong two-way production for the Pioneers.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
TAMYIA COLLIER • Rutgers University-Camden
Freshman • Guard • Reading, PA/Reading
 
Collier was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after averaging 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals during the week. She posted 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals while shooting 50 percent from the field in a matchup against Rowan on Tuesday. She closed the week with a game-high 17 points to go along with nine rebounds and three steals in a 53-41 victory at Ramapo on Saturday. Collier leads Rutgers-Camden with 22 steals on the season while averaging 7.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
