PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending Dec. 21.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JADA JACOBS • William Paterson University
Junior • Guard • Mount Laurel, NJ/Medford Tech
Jacobs collected her first and William Paterson’s fourth NJAC Player of the Week award following a well-rounded performance in the Pioneers’ 70-57 victory over Marywood on Tuesday. The junior guard tallied 18 points on 46.2% shooting from the field (6-of-13) while pulling down nine rebounds and dishing out four assists in 39 minutes of action. Jacobs also contributed defensively with two steals while committing just two turnovers in the win. She is currently ranked second in the NJAC in steals (3.1 spg) and assists (3.7 apg), is third in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4), and contributes 11.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PATTY WALSH • William Paterson University
Senior • Forward • Middletown, NJ/Middletown North
Walsh earned NJAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the second time after a dominant showing on the boards in William Paterson's 70-57 triumph over Marywood on Tuesday. The senior forward grabbed 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, while adding two steals and a block in 26 minutes. Walsh also contributed 19 points on 50% shooting (6-of-12) and converted seven free throws in the victory. She currently ranks third in the NJAC in blocks (1.5 bpg), is sixth in rebounding (7.5 rpg), and adds 11.3 points per game.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
SIENNA FEDORUK • Stockton University
Freshman • Guard • Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape
Fedoruk takes home her first and Stockton’s fourth NJAC Rookie of the Week honor of the season after delivering a career performance against McDaniel on Sunday. The freshman guard scored a career-high 12 points to lead Stockton in scoring while shooting an impressive 83.3% from the field (5-of-6), including hitting both a 3-point and free throw attempt. Fedoruk also tied her career high with five rebounds and added an assist in 24 minutes of play. She currently chips in 3.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in her first season in Galloway.
