PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming & diving weekly honors for the week ending Dec. 7.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
BRAELYN WILSON • Kean University
Sophomore • Mont Vernon, NH/The Academy for Science and Design
Wilson earned NJAC Swimmer of the Week honors after winning three individual events in dominant fashion. She set pool records in both the 50-yard freestyle (23.36 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle (51.79 seconds), with her 100 free time ranking as the second-fastest in the NJAC this season and among the top 45 nationally. She also claimed victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.55 seconds and swam a leg on the 400-yard freestyle relay. Wilson owns the NJAC's fastest 50 free time this season and the nation's seventh-fastest 50 free, as well as the conference's second-fastest 100 butterfly time.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
CASSANDRA ASHWORTH • William Paterson University
Sophomore • Totowa, NJ/Homeschool
Ashworth claimed NJAC Diver of the Week recognition after winning the 3-meter dive and placing third in the 1-meter dive at Brooklyn College on December 6. She posted a season-best score of 126.55 on the 3-meter board to claim first place, and followed with a score of 141.85 on the 1-meter dive that was just a third of a point off her season best.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ISABELLE SALVATORE • Salisbury University
Freshman • Wilmington, DE/Mount Pleasant
Salvatore was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after earning three medals in Salisbury's meet against Division I UMBC. She touched first in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:06.84, placed second in the 200-meter backstroke (2:26.41), and finished third as part of the 200-meter medley relay (2:01.91). Salvatore owns top-five NJAC times in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke this season.
