Mary Washington's Moy-Jacobs, Merchant Marine's Scafetta Earn NJAC Women's Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming & diving weekly honors for the week ending Jan. 11.

Moy-Jacobs earned NJAC Swimmer of the Week honors after winning three individual events in Mary Washington's 155-106 victory over Catholic. The sophomore claimed first in the 200 freestyle (2:00.49) and 100 freestyle (55.05) while placing second in the 1000 freestyle (11:24.68). She also anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay that touched in 1:43.54. Moy-Jacobs owns top-five NJAC times in both the 100 and 200 freestyle this season.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Freshman • Menlo Park, CA/Menlo Atherton
 
Scafetta was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after winning all four events she competed in during Tuesday's home tri-meet sweep of Hunter and John Jay. The freshman touched first in the 1000 freestyle (12:01.48), 200 butterfly (2:22.40) and 200 backstroke (2:18.15) while also leading off the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:57.66). She continued her strong performance on Friday against Division II Southern Connecticut State, trimming an impressive 23 seconds off her season-best time in the 1000 freestyle with a mark of 11:11.56. Scafetta's 1000 free time ranks 13th in the NJAC this season.
