Swenson Becomes Winningest Coach in Kean Women's Swimming History With Win Over Stevens

HOBOKEN, N.J. (10/24/25) – Head Coach Chris Swenson became the program's winningest coach at 54 wins as the Kean University women's swimming team earned a 196-66 victory over the Stevens on Friday, October 24.

Now in his eighth season with the program, Swenson has compiled a record that includes an undefeated 2022-23 regular season in which the Cougars won the program's first NJAC Championship and he was named NJAC Coach of the Year. Under his guidance, the team has broken 216 school records, produced two NCAA Championship qualifiers and three All-American selections, and earned 50 All-NJAC honors.

Before joining Kean in 2018, Swenson held coaching positions at Princeton University, the University of Notre Dame, Saint Peter's University, and Rowan University. At Saint Peter's, he coached three MAAC Swimmers of the Year, two of whom went on to place in the top 16 at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Swenson graduated from Rowan University in 2005 with a degree in Management, where he competed on the men's swim team and earned team MVP and Rookie of the Year honors. He later earned his MBA from Rowan in 2008.
