Kean's Wilson, Montclair State's Devone Earn NJAC Women's Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its women's swimming & diving weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 26.
 

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
BRAELYN WILSON • Kean University
Sophomore • Mont Vernon, NH/The Academy for Science and Design
 
Wilson collects her second NJAC Swimmer of the Week honor of the year after she dominated her competition during Kean's weekend action, sweeping four events with first-place finishes. She captured victories in the 50 freestyle (24.24), 100 freestyle (54.09), and 200 IM (2:10.29), while also contributing a 26.59 split on the winning 200 medley relay. Her 200 IM time ranks 15th in NCAA Division III and stands as the fastest in the NJAC. The sophomore also owns the nation's 10th-fastest 50 freestyle time (24.02) and the conference's second-fastest 100 freestyle mark this season.

Devone is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the second time as she continued her impressive debut season with another strong performance during Montclair State's tri-meet against East Stroudsburg and Kutztown on Saturday. The first-year swimmer claimed victory in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.24, which ranks as the eighth-fastest time in the NJAC this season. She also contributed to a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:54.17), helping the Red Hawks compete against two quality opponents.
