PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's outdoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending April 10.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
AMANDA DEMKO • The College of New Jersey
Sophomore • Medford, NJ/Shawnee
Demko earns NJAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors after a trio of top-10 national times between the Osprey Open and Temple Owl Invite over the weekend. At the Osprey Open, she won the 400 meters with a personal best time of 56.99 seconds, which ranks fastest in the NJAC and Metro Region and is ninth in NCAA Division III. She also teamed up with Maria Grill, Eliza Bruncaj, and Alli Uhl in the 4x400 meter relay to clock a 3:54.26. That time ranks as the best in the NJAC and Metro Region and is the sixth-fastest nationally. Demko also competed at Temple, where she along with Grill, Ashlyn MacLure, and Valandra Riggins ran a 48.04 in the 4x100 meter relay. That time is fastest in the NJAC and region and is the seventh-fastest time in the nation so far this year.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
LAUREN PRESTON • Stockton University

Preston earns NJAC Field Athlete of the Week honors after winning the pole vault for the third straight week, this time on Stockton’s home field at the Osprey Open. She posted her best vault of the year, clearing 3.66 meters. Her vault places her tied for 13th in NCAA Division III and is the best jump in the Metro Region and NJAC by over six inches.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ALYSON PETRO • Rutgers-Camden
Freshman • Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.
Petro is named NJAC Rookie of the Week for her performance at the Osprey Open. She competed in the heptathlon for the first time, finishing eighth with 2,663 points. She PR’ed in five of the seven events, with her two highest finishes coming in the 200 meters (4th) and high jump (T-5th). Petro’s point total of 2,663 points ranks her among the top 33 in NCAA Division III so far this season.
