PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its baseball weekly award winners for the week ending April 19.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRADEN DROMBOSKI • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Shortstop • Columbus, NJ / Northern Burlington Regional
Dromboski has been named NJAC Player of the Week after pacing TCNJ with a conference-best 13 RBI across five games, highlighted by a dominant series against sixth-ranked Rowan in which he batted 6-for-9 with seven RBI, four runs scored, and two doubles. The junior opened the series with a 4-for-5, three-RBI effort in a 21-16 contest before delivering a 2-for-4, four-RBI performance in TCNJ's 12-8 upset of the Profs on Saturday — producing in both games of a high-scoring series. Dromboski batted .500 on the week with 11 hits and did not strike out once. He also opened the week with three straight multi-RBI performances.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
AUSTIN KREYENHAGEN • Rowan University
Sophomore • Pitcher • Souderton, PA / Souderton Area
Kreyenhagen claimed NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors after a masterful performance against 12th-ranked Kean, holding the Cougars to just one hit and one earned run across 7.0 innings in a 10-2 Rowan victory. The sophomore limited Kean hitters to a .045 batting average on the day while walking two and striking out two in the complete game effort, helping the Profs salvage a doubleheader split in a marquee matchup of two ranked squads.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JOHN TOMSHO • Montclair State University
Freshman • Outfield • King of Prussia, PA / Upper Merion
Tomsho earns his second and Montclair State’s fourth NJAC Rookie of the Week honor after a consistent four-game performance during a 4-0 week for the Red Hawks. The freshman batted .421 with eight hits, four RBI, and seven runs scored, recording at least one hit and one run in every game of the week. Tomsho opened the week with a 2-for-3 effort with a run scored in a 6-1 win over New Jersey City before going 2-for-6 with two RBI and two runs in the 20-3 nightcap. He carried that momentum into the Rutgers-Camden series on Saturday, going 3-for-5 with two RBI, a double, and three runs scored in a 17-6 victory before closing the week with a hit and a run in the 7-2 series finale. Tomsho did not have fewer than one hit or one run scored in any game all week.
ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JESSE BEER • The College of New Jersey
Sophomore • Pitcher • Thousand Oaks, CA / Westlake
Beer becomes the third Lion this season to earn NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors after tossing a complete game victory against New Jersey City, allowing just one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts across nine innings in a 6-1 TCNJ win. The sophomore went the distance without allowing more than one run, retiring 31 batters and walking just two in his strongest outing of the season. The rookie currently ranks third in the NJAC in conference-only ERA (2.38) and runs allowed (6), along with sixth in conference-only opponent batting average (.230).
