PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's tennis weekly award winners for the week ending March 29.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
GABRIELLA ROBINSON • The College of New Jersey
Junior • Sicklerville, N.J. / Winslow Township
Robinson claims NJAC Player of the Week honors after going 6-0 across a 3-0 week for the unbeaten Lions. At No. 3 doubles, she and partner Elizabeth Ring dropped just three total games across wins against Washington College (6-2), Kean (6-0), and 40th-ranked Skidmore (6-1). Robinson was equally dominant in singles, sweeping Kean 6-0, 6-0 and dispatching Skidmore 6-3, 6-0 before rallying past Washington College 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) to close out a perfect week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
HILLARY VALDEZ • William Paterson University
Junior • Garfield, N.J. / Garfield
Valdez earned NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after posting a 3-1 mark across two matches. Against FDU-Florham on March 26, she won 6-1 at second doubles and 6-0, 6-1 at fifth singles. In a conference match against Stockton the following day, Valdez won 6-1, 6-0 at fourth singles to help the Pioneers to a 4-3 victory.
