Kean's Stone, NJCU's Dean, MSU's Tomsho, TCNJ's Perry Earn NJAC Baseball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its baseball weekly award winners for the week ending March 15.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TYLER STONE • Kean University
Senior • Outfield • Branchburg, NJ / Somerville
 
Stone earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after a monster week at the plate, batting .667 (8-for-12) with eight RBI, six runs scored, five extra-base hits, and four stolen bases as Kean went 4-0. The senior outfielder opened the week with an RBI double, a walk, and two stolen bases in an 8-3 victory over then-No. 1 Trinity (Texas), then homered and drove in three runs in a mercy-rule win over Southwestern. Stone kept his foot on the gas upon returning northeast, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a triple against St. Joseph's (L.I.) before closing with his best game of the week — a 3-for-3 effort with three RBI, a homer, a double, and two more stolen bases in a 9-5 win over New Paltz. Stone posted a 1.500 slugging percentage and .778 on-base percentage on the week.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
ANDRE DEAN • New Jersey City University

Dean is named NJAC Pitcher of the Week after delivering a complete game shutout in NJCU's 1-0 victory over Plattsburgh. The right-hander went all nine innings, allowing just six hits and four walks while striking out eight, holding the opposition scoreless in a game decided by a single run.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
JOHN TOMSHO • Montclair State University
Freshman • Infield • King of Prussia, PA / Upper Merion
 
Tomsho claims NJAC Rookie of the Week recognition after a standout week in Montclair State's 5-0 run, batting .400 (6-for-15) with five RBI and nine runs scored. The freshman infielder announced himself with a first career home run against FDU-Florham on Tuesday, a two-run shot. He followed with a 1-for-3 effort with a two-run double and two runs scored against MIT on Friday before catching fire in the final two games of the series — going 3-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored against MIT on Saturday, then drawing two walks and scoring three more runs in Sunday's series finale.
 
ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
TYLER PERRY • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Pitcher • Wallington, NJ / Wallington
 
Perry garners NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors after making three relief appearances and totaling 7.1 innings in TCNJ's winning week. The freshman earned the first win of his collegiate career with a dominant four-inning shutout effort against John Jay, allowing no hits and striking out four, and added two more innings of work against Ithaca.
