Rutgers-Newark's Kolodziej and Sturt, Kean's Quinn Earn NJAC Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's volleyball weekly award winners for the week ending Feb. 15.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALEKS KOLODZIEJ • Rutgers University-Newark

Kolodziej becomes the second Scarlet Raider selected as NJAC Player of the Week this season after powering Rutgers-Newark to a perfect 4-0 week, totaling 35 kills on a .423 hitting percentage while adding 24 digs and eight total blocks to anchor both ends of the court. His signature performance came against No. 14 SUNY New Paltz, where he delivered 18 kills on a blistering .531 hitting percentage while recording 13 digs to help the Scarlet Raiders claim one of their biggest wins of the season. Kolodziej also tallied 12 kills on .345 hitting in a sweep of St. Joseph's (L.I.) to open the week. He currently ranks fifth in the NJAC in points (3.15/set) and sixth in kills (2.56/set).
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TYLER QUINN • Kean University

Quinn garners NJAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the second straight week after recording 36 digs across a perfect 3-0 week while becoming the program's all-time leader in career digs. He led Kean's defensive effort with 17 digs in a four-set win over Eastern to open the week before adding 14 more in a four-set victory against Wilkes and five in a sweep of Hartwick. Quinn's consistent floor work was instrumental in Kean's undefeated week, as he averaged 4.0 digs per set while setting the new program standard for career defensive excellence. He continues to lead the NJAC in digs per set by far, averaging 3.79 per set compared to 2.85 for the next highest.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
DUNCAN STURT • Rutgers University-Newark
Freshman • Setter • Livingston, NJ/Livingston
 
Sturt has been named NJAC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time in the first five weeks of his collegiate career after orchestrating Rutgers-Newark's offense across a perfect 4-0 week. He totaled 146 assists at an average of 11.2 per set while committing just five errors across all four matches. He peaked with 49 assists in a four-set victory over No. 14 SUNY New Paltz, helping the Scarlet Raiders secure one of their most significant wins of the season. Sturt currently leads the NJAC in both total assists (444) and assists per set (10.09).
