PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's indoor track & field weekly honors for the week ending Feb. 15.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
SETH CLEVENGER • Rowan University
Junior • Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield
Clevenger garners NJAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the third time in four weeks after delivering one of the most historic performances in Division III track and field history, setting a new all-time Division III record in the 5000 meters with a time of 13:32.09 at the BU Valentine Invite. The junior followed that performance by anchoring Rowan's distance medley relay team alongside Blaik Slavinski, Matthew Niedbalski, and Teddy Wilson to a school record time of 9:53.19 at the Tufts Cupid Challenge, which stands as the top Division III time this season in the event. Clevenger was also named the USTFCCCA Division III Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
DAVID BROWN • Rowan University
Freshman • Edison, NJ/Edison
Brown has been selected as NJAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second time – and earned Rowan’s fifth overall Field weekly honor – after shattering Rowan's indoor high jump record at the Widener Indoor Classic. He cleared 2.19 meters to claim the top mark in Division III this season, outpacing the rest of the nation by nearly a tenth of a meter. His record-breaking clearance ranks as the seventh-best performance in Division III history.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
BRIGHT JOHN • Rowan University
Freshman • Stratford, NJ/Sterling
John claimed his first and Rowan’s sixth NJAC Rookie of the Week recognition after posting a season-best long jump of 7.10 meters at the Widener Indoor Classic. His jump marks the third-best in the NJAC this season and ranks 23rd in Division III.
