PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its field hockey weekly honors for the week ending Oct. 4.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CODIE SCIACCA • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Forward/Midfielder • Florence, NJ / Florence Township Memorial

Sciacca becomes the second Lion this season to be selected as the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after a career week. She scored six goals, twice her career total entering the week, as TCNJ posted a pair of 8-0 wins. The senior scored a career-high four goals in the first half alone against Marywood and followed with two more goals in the NJAC opener against William Paterson. Sciacca totaled 12 points on 13 shots, nine of them on goal. She now ranks second on the team in both goals (6) and points (13), which is fifth and eighth overall in the conference.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AVERY GOWER • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Defender/Midfielder • Allentown, NJ / Allentown

Gower earns her first and TCNJ’s second NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season after anchoring a Lion defense that posted back-to-back shutouts and held Marywood and William Paterson to two combined shots. The freshman also contributed on the attacking end. She assisted in the 8-0 win over Marywood, then scored her first collegiate goal and added another assist in the conference-opening win over William Paterson. The Lions’ defense has allowed a league-low 11 goals so far this season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Junior • Forward • Hanau, Germany / Karl-Rehbein-Schule

Eschmann claims NJAC Rookie of the Week after scoring in both TCNJ victories, totaling three goals and an assist for seven points, including five points in conference action. She netted the opening goal, which stood as the game-winner, in an 8-0 victory over Marywood. She then set career highs in goals and points with two goals and an assist in the conference-opening shutout of William Paterson. A study abroad student from Germany attending TCNJ for the fall semester, Eschmann currently ranks third on the team in both goals (4) and points (10) in her first season of NCAA field hockey.
