McCutcheon (20-1) yielded just five hits but did not walk a batter and added a pair of strikeouts to help Rowan claim its third regional title in a row. For the regional tournament, McCutcheon went 2-0 with a pair of shutouts, both over the Red Dragons, and earned the save in the victory over Tufts. The junior gave up just six hits and posted six strikeouts with zero walks in 13.2 innings of work.

Abigail Pawlowski and Breanna Bryant had RBI hits in the first inning and the Rowan defense did the rest in advancing in the postseason. Bryant and Aly Reim each had two hits while Pawlowski and Kate Evick each added a double.

With McKenzie Melvin on second and two outs, Pawlowski smoked a ball under the third baseman's glove down the line in left for a two-bagger and a 1-0 advantage in the first. Next up was Bryant, who singled home Pawlowski for a two-run edge.

McCutcheon did not allow a hit until the fourth as the Red Dragons looked to answer. With runners on the corners and one out, the junior got a called third strike for the second out and groundout to Liz McCaffery to flip things to the bottom half. Similarly, the Profs put runners in scoring position with one out, but Cortland's McKenna Barry worked out of that spot with a called third strike and ensuing grounder to move it to the fifth.

In that fifth, Bryant made a heads up play to get the final out of the frame. The third baseman charged in on a slow roller down the line with a runner at second, but faked the throw to first and fired back to the bag at third, catching Cortland's Emily Stavola in a rundown.

Cortland gave it one final push in the seventh, where back-to-back singles to start the inning put the go-ahead runner at the plate. The defense turned in three line outs, including a great snag at first from Holly Markus, and Melvin pulling in the final out in centerfield.

McCaffery, Payton MacNair, and Rylee Lutz joined McCutcheon on the regional all-tournament team that included McKenna Barry and Halle Wright of Cortland, Ava Markert and Addison Shaffer of RPI, and Bela Jimenez and Heaven Oliva from Tufts.
