Kean's Gutierrez, TCNJ's Brideau Earn Final NJAC Women's Tennis Weekly Honors of 2025

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its women's tennis weekly award winners for the week ending April 27.
 

 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
GIGI GUTIERREZ • Kean University
Sophomore • West New York, NJ / Memorial HS
 
Gutierrez earned NJAC Player of the Week honors after leading Kean to a 3-1 week with victories in both singles and doubles action in all matches except against TCNJ. She posted straight-set singles wins against Cedar Crest (6-4, 6-2), FDU-Florham (6-0, 6-0), and Trinity (6-0, 6-0), while teaming for doubles wins of 6-1, 6-1, and 6-0, respectively. Gutierrez’s dominant play helped Kean close out the non-conference portion of its schedule on a strong note.
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
GABRIELLE BRIDEAU • The College of New Jersey
Freshman • Montreal, Quebec / Saddlebrook Prep (Fla.)
 
Brideau was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after helping TCNJ claim the conference championship. In the NJAC semifinals against Kean, she rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles and teamed with Aira Abalos for a 6-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles. In the NJAC final against Stockton, Brideau and Abalos led their doubles match 5-2 when the Lions clinched the championship point, securing TCNJ’s continued dominance in the NJAC.
