USMMA's Mayer, TCNJ's Wu, WP's Gutowski Earn NJAC Men's Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors

PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its men's swimming and diving weekly honors for the week ending Feb. 2.
 

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
TEAGUE MAYER • United States Merchant Marine Academy
Junior • Boulder, CO / Boulder
 
Mayer is named NJAC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season after winning all four of his events at the USMMA Memorial Invitational. He started the day by leading off for the 200 medley relay team, which finished first in 1:34.49. Mayer also claimed individual victories in the 200 individual medley (1:56.83), 100 backstroke (53.50), and 200 backstroke (1:54.54).
 
 
DIVER OF THE WEEK
MICHAEL WU • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Plainsboro, NJ / West Windsor-Plainsboro North
 
Wu collects his second NJAC Diver of the Week honor after excelling on the boards at the USMMA Memorial Invitational. He secured first place in the 1-meter dive with 361.85 points, edging out his teammate. He also posted a strong performance on the 3-meter board, scoring 341.05 points to place second.
 
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
DEREK GUTOWSKI • William Paterson University
Freshman • Succasunna, NJ / Roxbury
 
Gutowski is the second Pioneer this year to earn NJAC Rookie of the Week honors. The first-year swimmer secured a first-place finish in the 200 individual medley in William Paterson’s meet against Ramapo on Jan. 28, clocking in at 2:28.11.
