PITMAN --- The New Jersey Athletic Conference has announced its men's basketball weekly award winners for the week ending Nov. 30.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MATTHEW SOLOMON • The College of New Jersey
Senior • Forward • Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan
Solomon collects his second weekly honor of the season, this time as NJAC Player of the Week after earning Defensive Player of the Week to open the year. Solomon dominated in TCNJ's NJAC-opening 85-68 victory over William Paterson, recording a 20-point, 15-rebound double-double while shooting 69.2% from the field. He was 9-for-13 from the field, and pulled down three offensive boards to go with an assist and a steal. This marked the eighth career game of 15-plus rebounds for Solomon and his 29
th career double-double. Solomon is averaging 12.2 points and an NJAC-leading 10.5 rebounds per game, and is second among all active NCAA Division III players with 768 career rebounds – just two behind the current active leader.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MYLES PRIMAS • Montclair State University
Sophomore • Forward • Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape
Primas is named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week after he anchored Montclair State's defense in its 100-86 conference-opening win over Rowan. He led the Red Hawks with four blocked shots while adding three steals and four rebounds. The sophomore forward's defensive versatility disrupted Rowan's attack throughout the contest, while he also contributed 11 points on 57.1% shooting. Primas currently leads the NJAC in blocks (1.4 bpg).
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
CRISTIAN NICHOLSON • Montclair State University
Freshman • Guard • Mine Hill, NJ/Morris Catholic
Nicholson becomes the second Red Hawk this season to earn NJAC Rookie of the Week honors. He recorded his first double-digit scoring performance of the season in Montclair State's 100-86 conference-opening victory over Rowan, finishing with 10 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals. The freshman guard shot 50% from the field and 66.7% from three-point range. He is currently chipping in 7.0 points and 3.2 rebounds, while ranking fourth overall in the NJAC with 2.2 steals per game.
